The PSWCC partners with PGE for Westside trainings on a variety of topics.  PGE offers educational seminars and webinars on the wise and efficient use of energy and water to help its business customers become knowledgeable and familiar with new energy-saving equipment, systems, and related technologies.

October 13, 2016, 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. 

Enhancing sustainability at your business may help reduce costs and increase your competitive advantage, productivity, and employee retention and recruitment. Whether a beginner or a member of an experienced team, you will learn from your peers and take home concrete steps you can act on to move sustainability forward in your organization.

Fundamentals of Electricity & Managing Costs

November 9, 2016, 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. 

Gain a firmer understanding of how energy is made, measured, and managed. Learn about the fundamentals of electricity (i.e., watts, volts, amps, circuits, transformers, phases) and the components of electric utility systems (i.e., generation, transmission, distribution). Discuss the parts of your electric bill (i.e., energy charges, power factor, and demand charges) and how to calculate the cost of running equipment. Learn strategies for reducing energy use and lowering operation costs, including solar electric and thermal systems and lighting upgrades.
